Senior Revenue Accountant

We’re looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Gopuff North America Accounting team. Building and maintaining a best-in-class accounting function are core to what will make Gopuff successful. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with ASC 606 and internal policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate has experience in B2B environments with complex contracts, multi-element arrangements, and/or subscription-based billing models.

Responsibilities

Perform month-end tasks related to revenue, including contract analysis, revenue reconciliations, deferred revenue, unearned revenue, and other revenue adjustments. Ensure all revenue transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting principles and company guidelines. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Perform revenue flux analysis and reporting

Perform AR analysis including reconciling unbilled receivable and unapplied cash, analyzing and tracking bad debt bookings, and prepare allowance adjustments on a monthly basis

Effectively partner and collaborate with cross functional business teams, including commercial, billing and legal, and all members of our Finance team

Collaborate with AR teams, providing monthly reports in a timely manner for the AR team to bill and ensure accuracy and completeness of invoicing

Support the AR team by investigating and resolving discrepancies between accounts, supervising AR activities, partnering with business partners to escalate unresolved accounts for further actions, and keeping track of collection progress

Develop, update and maintain the company’s revenue recognition policy and SOPs as business processes evolve and accounting standards change

Assist in the quarterly and year-end audit process, actively working with internal and external auditors to ensure that the interpretation of revenue recognition accounting standards are consistent and compliant with GAAP

Assist in continuous improvement efforts, optimizing revenue-related processes for scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness in alignment with Gopuff’s growth trajectory

Ability to efficiently prioritize tasks and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly evolving work environmentAd hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications

Four-year college degree required, with an emphasis in accounting or finance

3+ years of experience in an Revenue Accounting or Technical Accounting role in a B2B environment or public accounting experience, knowledge of retail business is preferred

Working knowledge of ASC 606 and GAAP revenue recognition requirements

Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets

Ability to efficiently work in ERP systems, Oracle Cloud experience preferred

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a remote team environment and meet deadlines

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization

Effective communicator able to convey and present information in a concise and well-organized manner

Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet challenging deadlines.
