Position Summary
The Senior USAID Management Expert will play a pivotal role in supporting the Management Cadre Support (MCS) Office, acting independently and proactively to anticipate the needs of the DRG Bureau. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advanced operational and strategic support to the MCS Office, ensuring the effective management of over 100 staff members and the global DRG cadre. Your exceptional written and oral communication, coordination, and facilitation skills, combined with a strong sense of responsibility and a high customer service standard, will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop processes for the DRG Bureau, ensuring alignment with USAID guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with US Direct Hires to create an internal bureau awards program, promoting excellence and recognition within the team
- Assist in the development of Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Onboarding and Training Process documents, including guidance for supervisors
- Design and implement rollout plans for DRG Bureau processes, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to operations
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the government clearance process, tracking and assisting with long-term projects as required
- Document Travel and Telework Policies, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and consistency
- Support the implementation of DRG Bureau processes by creating materials to facilitate client understanding and adoption
- Serve as the primary point of contact for management and leadership issues, providing expert advice and guidance to DRG leadership on operational matters
- Identify and address pertinent issues, collecting relevant information from various sources and adhering to Agency guidelines, policies, and regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years' experience working at USAID or with USAID implementing partners
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, with a high attention to detail and excellent influencing abilities
- Outstanding communication skills, with a strong focus on client service and satisfaction
- Proficiency in using all Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software and systems
- Professional proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance, with a commitment to adhering to all relevant security protocols and procedures
- Must be a U.S. citizen, with a strong understanding of USAID policies, guidelines, and regulations
