Pixar Animation Studios is seeking a Software Research & Development Intern for Summer 2026. The intern will work on solutions for challenges in computer graphics filmmaking, focusing on the development of AI-assisted workflows and technologies.
Responsibilities
- A Software Engineer intern on the research team works on solutions for an unknown problem by creating, implementing and transferring new technology related to computer graphics filmmaking
- Emphasis on developing AI assisted workflows and technologies for the next generation of digital filmmaking
Skills
- Strong interest, knowledge and background in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to explore and learn alongside others
- Possess well-developed and proactive communication skills allowing for smooth, results-oriented interactions with different personalities and levels of capability, including both technical and non-technical collaborators
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a non-linear approach to problem-solving
- Ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple exploratory efforts
- Currently enrolled in MS or PhD program in AI, computer science, computer graphics or other area of relevant study
- Those within the first year after graduating from your MS/PhD program are also eligible for this opportunity
- You already possess the legal right to work in the United States
- This is a full-time position. You must be available to work on-site Mon 6.1.26 - Fri 8.21.26
- Experience with 3D graphics concepts or working in animation, VFX, or interactive media production is a plus
- Familiarity with Linux, helpful
