We are looking for a Yocto / Embedded Linux Developer to help customize a tablet platform for an Electric Vehicle (EV) system.
This role focuses on building a stable, production-ready embedded environment running Yocto Linux on an ARM-based tablet used as the vehicle control interface.
Key responsibilities
• Customize and maintain a Yocto-based Linux distribution
• Develop and optimize BSP layers for the tablet hardware
• Integrate device drivers (touch, display, connectivity, CAN, sensors)
• Optimize boot time, system stability, and OTA update mechanisms
• Support integration with vehicle systems and IoT telemetry modules
Required experience
• Strong experience with Yocto / OpenEmbedded build systems
• Embedded Linux development on ARM platforms
• Kernel configuration and driver integration
• Hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB)
• Debugging at the OS and hardware interaction level
Nice to have
• Experience with automotive or EV systems
• Secure boot and OTA update frameworks
• Cellular or IoT connectivity integration
This is a contract role with the potential for a longer engagement as the platform moves into production.
