As a Finance Officer with Australian Accounting experience, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end payroll and accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the business. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role offers valuable hands-on experience, exposure to diverse financial processes, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the success of the wider team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process fortnightly payroll, vendor invoices, credit notes, employee expense claims and, corporate credit card transactions including preparation of payment runs.
- Prepare month-end journal processing for payroll and expense accruals, such as annual leave, long service leave, workers compensation and payroll tax.
- Maintain accurate payroll and vendor records and corporate credit cards whilst ensuring data integrity and timely updates across finance systems.
- Maintain relevant payroll and accounts payable monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Respond to payroll and vendor enquiries with a strong focus on service excellence and stakeholder management. Exercise sound judgement and a moderate level of autonomy in maintaining accurate financial records and escalating complex matters to the Finance Manager, as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure financial processes adhere to company policies and accounting standards.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, advanced Excel skills and exposure to financial reporting tools (Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated extensive experience (3+ years) in accounts payable and payroll functions within a commercial or corporate environment.
