Position Overview – Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Certified Nursing Assistant will work closely with registered nurses and shift supervisors to deliver comprehensive, high‑quality care to our residents. This full‑time, 3‑plus‑month assignment includes a thorough two‑week orientation and offers a structured schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with occasional 16‑hour shifts as operational needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities
- Resident Care Support: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, eating, drinking, and safe mobility.
- Observation & Reporting: Monitor resident behavior, identify emerging concerns, and promptly report observations to the shift supervisor or nursing staff.
- Documentation: Accurately document resident interactions, care activities, and observations within the facility’s electronic health record, adhering to policy‑mandated timelines.
- Safety & Supervision: Provide vigilant, supportive observation to ensure resident safety and to assist medical personnel in health‑related tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Complete assignments cooperatively, maintain open communication with peers, and contribute to a positive, solution‑focused workplace.
- Professional Conduct: Arrive punctually, maintain a professional appearance, and accurately record hours worked in accordance with facility policy.
- Flexibility: Respond to staffing needs by working additional hours, including 16‑hour shifts, when required to maintain optimal levels of resident care.
Essential Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of six (6) months of CNA experience in a psychiatric, forensic, or acute‑care setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform ADLs and assist with mobility using proper body mechanics.
- Strong observational skills with the capacity to identify subtle changes in resident behavior or health status.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to document clearly and objectively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and state privacy regulations.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift residents safely throughout a shift.

As a CNA, you will be an integral part of this process, supporting residents on their path to recovery while ensuring a secure, structured atmosphere.
