The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking a Contract Management Support Specialist to join their team. This role involves supporting administrative, financial, and operational processes critical to the Medi-Cal Enterprise Systems Modernization Division, ensuring compliance and efficiency in contract-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Support key administrative, financial, and operational processes that enable MESMD’s enterprise technology initiatives
- Ensure the accuracy and compliance of MESMD Work Order Authorizations (WOAs) by validating contractor timesheets, reviewing invoices, and verifying contract deliverables within enterprise systems
- Lead the creation and documentation of standardized, technology-enabled administrative processes
- Provide onboarding and training for new contractors on system-based workflows, fostering alignment with MESMD’s operational and IT standards
- Develop and maintain financial documents using IT tools, monitor budgets through system dashboards, and prepare reports for executive management
- Lead or participate in special IT-related projects as assigned by executive leadership
- Represent the division in meetings and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in conducting detailed data analysis to support contract-related decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) to manage documentation and workflows
- Ability to interpret and apply contract clauses accurately within operational and compliance contexts
- Proven capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships across divisions and with external partners
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in contract management and administration practices
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Familiarity with document management systems and practices for tracking, storing, and retrieving contract-related materials
