About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Care Representative to join our remote team. As a Customer Care Representative, you'll be the primary point of contact for patients and clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns related to patient accounting questions. Your expertise and dedication will ensure timely and effective resolutions, fostering a positive experience for our patients and driving business growth for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound customer service calls in a professional, service-oriented manner, ensuring timely responses and minimizing call drops/abandons.
- Make outbound follow-up calls on outstanding AR accounts when inbound call volumes are low, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems, focusing on timely, first-call resolution.
- Document all actions during the call in our proprietary software, ensuring seamless continuity for future interactions.
- Participate in 1x1s and huddles with leadership to review performance opportunities and receive coaching, driving continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To excel as a Customer Care Representative at blithequark, you'll need:
- Exceptional customer service skills, including effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- A professional and calming tone of voice, with complete command of the English language and impeccable grammar.
- The ability to summarize complex call interactions in concise notes, enabling seamless handoffs to other team members.
- Strong communication skills, facilitating conversations with diverse stakeholders and establishing a deep understanding of customer issues.
- A high degree of independence, flexibility, and creative problem-solving techniques, ensuring adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to maintain control of calls, de-escalating issues and instilling confidence in customers.
- Attentive listening skills and the ability to articulate clear responses using appropriate voice modulation.
- Knowledge of reimbursement aspects of managed healthcare contracts, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant guidelines.
Education and Experience
We're looking for candidates with:
- A high school education or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of prior experience in an inbound call center and/or customer service environment, preferably in a hospital patient account billing setting.
- Knowledge of 3rd party reimbursements from insurance companies and government payers is a plus.

- Pay: $14.50 - $21.80 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Eligibility for a signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.
