Job Summary
As a Data Analyst - Transportation Investigation, you will be part of a Business Intelligence (BI) team that supports the daily operations of transportation. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide insights to help our clients make informed decisions quickly. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including Operations, Finance, and Product teams, to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across multiple activities and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with large, complex, and disparate datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses and inform critical business decisions rapidly.
- Design and implement ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) or processes that pull data from multiple sources and unify it in one table.
- Develop data visualizations to monitor and evaluate the impact of changes and exceptional business challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on a regular basis, establishing credibility and trust with stakeholders.
- Influence stakeholders to share relevant data and insights, ensuring that data-driven decisions are made across the organization.
- Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting tasks, such as screen captures, metrics prioritization, and exception acknowledgment.
- Document processes and share knowledge with colleagues, contributing to the development of a community of practice.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
- Great SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate data from various tables while maintaining data integrity.
- Creativity and a customer-centric approach to developing meaningful dashboards and visualizations.
- Business operations familiarity, with the ability to understand and root-cause business issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Advanced experience with SQL and data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with e-commerce operations or logistics and transportation management.
- Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python or R.
- Experience with data manipulation tools, such as Knime, Alteryx, or Scene Prep.
