Data Literacy Instructional Specialist II (Contract/Temp) — Power BI Enablement (Fully Remote) Type: Temporary / Contract Location: Fully Remote We’re seeking an experienced Data Literacy Instructional Specialist to support the enterprise-wide launch of Power BI. This is a content-first role focused on designing and developing high-quality learning experiences that enable both analytics and non-analytics professionals—from data consumers to aspiring Power BI developers—to use Power BI effectively in their day-to-day work. You’ll partner closely with the Data Literacy Program team, project leadership, and Power BI / analytics subject matter experts to align learning content to the program’s strategy and adoption goals. What you’ll do Learning strategy (approx. 20%) • Develop a thorough understanding of learning objectives and determine how to leverage design and technology to deliver outcomes. • Identify opportunities for new Data Literacy Program initiatives and tool-specific training. • Represent/advance data literacy practices through networking, workgroups, and professional engagement (as applicable). Program operations (approx. 20%) • Own the delivery and lifecycle of one pillar of work within the Data Literacy Program, including impact metrics, ROI reporting, and executive summary development. • Assess existing learning assets (internal and external) for assigned topics; expand and mature content into sustainable resources that scale across learner personas. • Support program awareness and adoption through marketing events and internal communications (speaking engagements, blog posts, and other channels). Content development & delivery (approx. 60%) • Conduct learner discovery (user interviews, feedback loops) to understand needs, pain points, and skill gaps. • Design and develop learning products (courses, curriculum, modules, persona-based learning pathways) aligned to adult learning and instructional design best practices. • Translate Power BI and BI concepts into clear, engaging, accessible instructional materials for multiple personas and technical levels. • Partner with SMEs across the enterprise to develop, revise, validate, and maintain training content. • Facilitate virtual trainings regularly (and occasional in-person sessions only if required by the program). • Pilot-test learning products and iterate based on evaluations and learner feedback. • Build trust with learners and create an inclusive environment that supports growth throughout the data literacy journey. Required skills & experience • 2+ years in training, instructional design, classroom instruction, eLearning, curriculum development, or related work. • 4+ years in data and analytics (e.g., data analytics, statistical programming, data integration, data management, biostatistics, software development, data science) or equivalent education/experience. • 1+ year using visual/instructional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Vyond (or similar). • Strong facilitation/presentation skills; comfortable leading workshops for large, diverse audiences. • Excellent written communication, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and modern digital workflows. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of varying backgrounds and perspectives. Preferred • 3+ years training / instructional design experience. • 5+ years data/analytics experience. • Experience implementing and evaluating training programs at scale (corporate, university, organization-wide). • Familiarity with instructional design methodologies, eLearning strategies, LMS practices, and computer-based training development. Education • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a computational, mathematical, science-related, or data-related field (or equivalent experience). • Preferred: Master’s degree in business, education, data science, computational/mathematical/science-related field, or public health. Certifications (preferred) • Instructional Design Certification • User Experience (UX) Certification Power BI & Microsoft ecosystem (highly desired) • Deep, hands-on experience with Power BI and enterprise adoption. • Experience with Microsoft 365 integration (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and the Power Platform. • Experience supporting enterprise BI rollouts, self-service analytics, and user adoption. #ZR
