As a Dispatch Operations Specialist, you will be part of a talented team that is responsible for managing the flow of freight into and out of our North American fulfillment centers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Dispatch Operations Specialist, Remote Gate Management, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering outstanding carrier and driver experience/solutions in a contact center environment by researching, problem-solving, setting appropriate expectations, and working within the Amazon Transportation network.
- Working in a fast-paced environment and adhering to schedules, including start/stop times, breaks, and lunches.
- Supporting workload surges and/or weather-related operations as needed, including working significant overtime during designated high-volume peaks.
- Using internal systems to gather data from multiple sources to support reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions and effectively communicate insights to others across Transportation Operations Management (TOM), Amazon Freight Partners (AFP), and Fleet.
- Providing support to field teams in driver assignment, load acceptance, and driver/equipment availability.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1+ year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- A high school or equivalent diploma.
- The ability to work 40 hours/week, with overtime as required.
- A flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- To be 18 years of age or older.
- 1+ year of call center experience.
- A background in customer service/call center, transportation, and/or supply chain environments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a lot of growth opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in a transportation or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and/or logistics operations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
