Join Babel Institute’s Editorial team to assist with editing, reviewing, and preparing youth-focused policy publications this summer.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
• Copyedit and proofread articles, op-eds, essays, and policy briefs before publication
• Fact-check drafts and verify names, dates, quotations, and other factual references
• Review submissions for compliance with the think tank’s editorial standards
• Provide editorial feedback and recommend revisions on draft submissions
• Prepare edited drafts for publication
• Collaborate with fellows, scholars, and contributors across regional programs
About You
The company is looking for:
• Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university
• GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Prior experience in editing, publishing, or journalism preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
• Fixed stipend of $2,500 for the summer term, paid in installments
• Flexible schedule with approximately 15 to 20 hours per week commitment
Training & Development
• Experience copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking material before publication
• Applying editorial standards to draft submissions
• Participation in discussions and learning activities with fellows and directors across regional programs
