They are seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Stormwater Engineer to join their Water Team, responsible for contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of water, wastewater, and storm management projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of stormwater management, water and wastewater treatment, water quality improvement projects for a variety of clients across Florida
- Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Carry out engineering analyses, prepare reports and technical specifications, under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Work collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within defined scope, schedule, and budget
- Collect and analyze data, perform field work, undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Attend site visits and meetings in clients’ offices
- Maintain project records and files, contribute to the preparation of progress reports, communicate project and task updates to team members and supervisors as needed
- Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil, or environmental engineering with academic focus on water, wastewater, and/or stormwater infrastructure, or a related field
- Must have a valid U.S driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review
- Master's degree in civil, or environmental, or a related field
- Prior experience in water and wastewater engineering, including design, construction, and/or operations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (i.e., StormWise, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.)
- Familiarity with additional software tools, such as Power BI, hydraulic modelling programs, structural design packages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design and a willingness to travel and work in the field as needed
