About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Airport Agent - Ramp and Customer Service professional to join our team at blithequark in Killeen, TX. As an Airport Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our flights, as well as providing exceptional customer service to our passengers. Key Responsibilities
- Guide and direct incoming and outgoing aircraft on the taxiway to ensure safe and on-time arrival and departure
- Load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, cargo/freight, and company materials, with some items weighing up to 75 lbs
- Operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and bag carts to support aircraft operations
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure safe and on-time departure, and provide a seamless check-in and ticketing experience for passengers
- Use reservation/ticketing software to rebook itineraries, issue boarding passes, and calculate and collect fees
- Communicate with passengers throughout their experience, providing information about their trips and belongings
- Resolve passenger issues in a timely and friendly manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including the interior of the aircraft and aircraft lavatories
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Minimum age: 18
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
- Valid, unexpired, and unsuspended state driver's license, with no restrictions that may prohibit you from being considered for this role
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, overnights, weekends, holidays, and rotating days off
- Flexibility to work additional hours with short notice when operationally necessary
- Physical ability to carry, bend, lift, and turn with bags and other items weighing up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work outside in variable weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear, polite, and friendly manner
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in the airline industry, particularly in a customer-facing role
- Knowledge of reservation/ticketing software and systems
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
