As a .4 teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students eligible for ESL in the classroom setting, working under the direct instruction of a certified teacher. As an English Language Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for adapting learning materials and activities to meet the learning and social-emotional needs of English Language students. You will work one-to-one with individual students to support their learning, exercise independent judgment, and implement research-based interventions and best practices. Your expertise and passion for teaching will enable you to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess an Illinois Professional Educator License with Stipulations (PARA). You should have a strong understanding of the needs of English Language students and be able to adapt learning materials and activities to meet their needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with students, teachers, and other staff members.
