Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
- Transport goods within the states of Oregon and Washington, following designated routes and schedules.
- Load and unload cargo, using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, as needed.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Provide excellent customer service, interacting with clients and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate records, including logs, delivery receipts, and other documentation, as required.
- Work collaboratively with other drivers, dispatchers, and team members to achieve company goals and objectives.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Valid Class A driver's license, with a Hazmat endorsement.
- DOT Medical card, with a clean driving record.
- At least 4 months of experience as a commercial driver, with a strong safety record.
- No more than 4 jobs in the past 3 years, and no more than 2 jobs in the past 12 months.
- No more than 2 accidents in the last 5 years, and no more than 2 tickets within the last 3 years.
- Must be at least 21 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, as needed.
- Comfortable driving into tight spaces around vehicles, with experience in this area.
- Willingness to work nights, with a flexible schedule, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Previous experience as a local truck driver, with a strong knowledge of the Oregon and Washington areas.
- Familiarity with logistics and transportation software, as well as electronic logging devices.
