Job Summary
As a Data Engineer in the Forecasting Core Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines to support AI models and data analysis. You will work closely with a team of software development engineers, product managers, data scientists, and business intelligence analysts to create a data infrastructure that drives business growth. Your expertise in data engineering, SQL, and scripting languages will be essential in solving complex problems and driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data solutions using AWS and Amazon internal tools.
- Build and maintain business logic for data transformation and ingestion pipelines.
- Create and maintain datasets in Amazon data lake and internal data management systems using S3/Glue.
- Perform data analysis and investigation to understand the impact of changes on downstream clients' use cases and construct change logic to ingest data for demand forecasting.
- Provide high-quality data to Amazon demand team data customers.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages, such as Python or Java.
- Experience with large-scale data processing platforms, such as AWS EMR, Redshift, or S3.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS technologies, such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
- Familiarity with non-relational databases and data stores, such as object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines.
