Job Summary
This is a worldwide and exceptionally cross-functional role, with responsibility across all of our logistics, fulfillment, and transportation operations. As the primary legal counsel for all global supply chain and logistics matters, you'll construct deep connections and work collaboratively with your business partners, while also demonstrating entrepreneurial skills and a capacity to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary legal counsel for all global supply chain and logistics matters and drives, including as primary contact for the operations leadership team.
- Provide end-to-end transactional support, including negotiating, structuring, and drafting complex business transactions and managing contract templates and client and provider-facing program agreements.
- Conditional workstreams include:
- Procurement efforts (e.g., sea carrier agreements, transportation and delivery carrier procurement, and vendor agreements for consolidation, export, and other inception services).
- Service offerings (e.g., warehousing, fulfillment, sea, cart, and combination sales templates and terms).
- Strategic partnerships.
- Partner intimately with the business to build and maintain adaptable compliance programs and manage a unified compliance database for regulated activities (e.g., FMC and DOT compliance).
- Drive efficiency in higher volume workstreams, utilizing templates, playbooks, and self-service.
- Collaborate with other lawyers in the Legal office and across the business as a supply chain subject matter expert.
What You'll Need
Essential Qualifications:
- Periods of relevant legal experience, with related knowledge in online business logistics and sea shipping preferred.
- J.D. with top academic credentials and participation with at least one state bar.
- A bias towards action, including a willingness to roll-up sleeves, contribute, and handle complex issues with the broader Wayfair team, including both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
- Deeply influential, business-accommodating, and convincing writing and relational skills, including excellent communication and relationship-building capacities.
- Project management experience and the ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a global logistics and supply chain environment.
- Familiarity with compliance programs and regulatory requirements (e.g., FMC, DOT, and customs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into actionable solutions.
