As a Senior Data Analyst at blithequark, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and ensuring the accuracy of subscriber metrics across our streaming portfolio.
About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Analyst to support our Subscriber Operations capability within the Data Insights team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing subscriber data to inform business-critical initiatives, ensuring seamless delivery of subscription change notifications, and identifying subscribers impacted by incidents requiring remediation. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders, including upstream messaging partners, episode management, Business Operations, and trade engineering, to guarantee the integrity of our subscriber metrics and ensure customers receive refunds when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee data requirements related to subscriber notification initiatives, including price increases, subscriber arrangements, and new data collection, as well as incident remediation to ensure accurate refunds for affected customers.
- Develop SQL queries based on business logic to determine precise subscriber groups for notification or remediation, sometimes requiring direct data commitment.
- Communicate business requirements to technical teams and provide regular updates on technical progress and roadblocks to business stakeholders.
- Cultivate in-depth knowledge of subscriber metrics and the technical framework underlying subscriber data to drive informed decision-making.
- Oversee project planning, timelines, and cross-functional delivery to ensure readiness for significant business events.
- Drive alignment across Data, Business Operations, and Finance by developing robust communication processes and operational playbooks.
- Collaborate with Data Product and Data Quality Engineering to contribute to the design of robust reporting solutions that minimize data incidents.
Essential Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
- At least 3 years of work experience in SQL development, particularly in ETL processing pipelines.
- 3+ years of analytical experience, with a proven track record of analyzing complex data sets.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL processing pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of audiences.
- Knowledge of Python/R or other statistical programming languages.
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau, Looker, or Chartio.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Skills and Experience
- Understanding of statistical concepts, such as hypothesis testing and regression analysis.
- Postgraduate education.
- Familiarity with Windstream.
