The Corporate Accounting team at Netflix is seeking an experienced and skilled Accountant to support the General and Regulatory functions, as well as corporate credit card and travel programs. As a key member of the team, you will thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, driving process improvements to achieve scale and building strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
Job Summary
This is a full-time, hybrid position that can be based in Los Gatos or Los Angeles. As an Accountant at Netflix, you will be responsible for owning the month-end close process, driving process upgrades, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Close Process: Own the month-end close cycle, including review of prepaid, accrual, and business ledgers to ensure financial statement accuracy under US GAAP. Functional responsibilities include recording or journal entries (including intercompany entries), preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, budget versus actual review, and trend analysis.
- Process Upgrades: Drive process improvements and automate manual work processes to achieve efficiency and scalability.
- Financial Insights: Create smart close packages that summarize key business and accounting trends for executive review.
- Cross-Functional Collaborations: Represent Corporate Accounting in cross-functional interactions with SP&A, Financial Applications, Travel and Expense, Money Acquisition Activities, Tax, and regional accounting partners. Help teams in gathering required expectations for local reporting and compliance purposes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant Accounting Experience: 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- US GAAP Knowledge: Understanding of US GAAP; CPA or similar designation preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Solid organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated experience in carrying out process upgrades and ability to solve problems independently.
- Communication and Collaboration: Solid communication and cooperation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automation and Process Improvement: Experience with automation tools and process improvement methodologies.
- Financial Analysis: Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills.
- Leadership and Management: Experience in leading or managing teams.
