Key Responsibilities
- Review and manage HIT course assignments, including grading and using innovative methods to provide content coaching to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
- Focus on helping HIT program students through tutoring appointments, email, and handwritten comments on graded papers, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Model effective oral and written communication that engages Health Information Technology students, providing clarity and improving student learning outcomes.

- Collaborate with the Curriculum Department in conducting Academic Reviews to ensure content is relevant, current, and aligned with industry standards.
Requirements and Qualifications

- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Medical Specialties, or a closely related field, demonstrating your expertise in the subject matter.
- At least 5 years of full-time work experience in the area to be taught, ensuring you have practical knowledge and real-world insights to share with students.
- Current employment in the field to be taught, keeping your skills and knowledge up-to-date and relevant.
- ICD-9 and ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS knowledge and experience, as well as certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or another similar certification, highlighting your professional credentials.
- A degree earned from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or, for non-U.S. institutions, an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities (18th ed.).
