Job Summary
We are looking for a bright, passionate, and dedicated professional with excellent interpersonal, mathematical, and instructional skills to create an engaging and productive learning experience for our students. As a Math Instructor/Tutor at Mathnasium of Creve Coeur, you will have the opportunity to work with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them to understand, master, and love math. This is a part-time role with flexible hours, and we are seeking instructors who are able to work throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional instruction/tutoring services to students, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth
- Participate in positive interactions with parents, establishing a high level of confidence and program value, and communicating effectively with them about their child's progress
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes, using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices to deliver high-quality instruction
- Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery, using individualized instruction in a group setting to meet the unique needs of each student
- Assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions, working collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students and identify areas for improvement
- Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students achieve their full potential
- Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment, ensuring that our center is a safe, welcoming, and productive space for all students
- Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of our team
Essential Qualifications
- A passion for math and working with students, with a strong desire to make a positive impact on their lives and academic achievement
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I, with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and principles
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students of all ages and skill levels, with a proven track record of success in teaching or tutoring math
- Strong knowledge of math curriculum and standards, with the ability to adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
