About the Role
We are seeking passionate and experienced K-12 tutors to join our team of dedicated educators. As a remote online tutor, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, creating a schedule that suits your needs while maintaining consistency for our students. Our tutors work one-on-one with students, providing personalized support and guidance in Math and/or Reading, grades K-12.
Key Responsibilities
- Tutor students online after school hours, with a commitment to 1:1 tutoring with the same child each week for 2 hours (1 hour twice a week)
- Set your own schedule, ensuring consistency and reliability for our students
- Work with grades K-12 in Math and/or Reading, adapting your teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student
- Utilize strong communication skills to help students understand complex subject material, providing patience, encouragement, and support
- Maintain a dependable and professional approach, ensuring that all tutoring sessions are conducted in a timely and effective manner
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
- A Teaching Certificate or 2+ years of teaching or 1:1 tutoring experience (student teaching and practicum excluded)
- A minimum of 6 hours per week available for tutoring
- Access to a computer or tablet, with a reliable internet connection (WIFI)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with students in a virtual or online environment
- Familiarity with a range of educational technologies and platforms
