Key Responsibilities: Delivering Exceptional IT Support
- Provide end-user support to VC3 clients via inbound phone, email, and webchat, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
- Triage inbound service requests, identifying the root cause of problems and determining the appropriate course of action to resolve them.
- Utilize an ITIL-founded triage model to categorize and prioritize inbound requests and incidents, ensuring efficient issue resolution.
- Fulfill client-requested Installs, Moves, Adds, and Changes (IMAC), ensuring seamless execution of technical tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory, Exchange, and O365, demonstrating expertise in Microsoft technologies.
- Assist users with password resets, account unlocks, and email updates, providing timely and effective support.
- Complete user account creations, workstation user profile setup, and terminations, ensuring accurate and efficient management of user accounts.
- Run diagnostic programs to resolve computer problems, leveraging technical expertise to identify and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VPN/Remote access, printers, DNS, and workstation performance, demonstrating a broad range of technical skills.
- Escalate out-of-scope issues to the appropriate elevated team, ensuring seamless issue resolution and collaboration.
Additional Responsibilities: Driving Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation through the change management process, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Create basic "How-to" guides and instructions for end-users, promoting knowledge sharing and user empowerment.
- Participate in monthly training and team meetings, staying informed about industry developments and best practices.
- Participate in the on-call rotation (1 week every 3-4 months), demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting clients.
Essential Qualifications: The Skills and Expertise We Need
To succeed as an Overnight IT Service Technician at VC3, you'll need:
- At least 1-year practical experience in a technical support or customer service position, or recent technical education experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of key technologies, including Windows 7, 8, 10, 11, Microsoft Office Suite (2010 & Newer), Microsoft/Office 365, Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Terminal Services.
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide timely and effective support to clients.
