Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Statistics Analyst I to join our Data and Insights team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of sports data on various arenaflex platforms, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, arenaflex.com, Fantasy, and GameCast. You will work with automated data feeds and utilize manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of accurate, timely, and intelligent sports information.

Key Responsibilities

• Guarantee sports data disseminated by Data and Insights is accurate, timely, and insightful.
• Work in individual settings and in groups to deliver accurate detailed analysis, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power numerous arenaflex products and productions.
• Create and maintain an active knowledge of Data and Insights' role in fueling arenaflex digital products and television productions.
• Check the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail.
• Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full-and part-time staff.
• Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate promptly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues.
• Play a proactive role in working with stakeholders in developing or refining production processes.
• Be an active participant in team and department meetings.
• Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance.
• Stay informed about current office policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games.
• Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (exclusively), weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives arenaflex's digital and television products.
• Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production situations.
• Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
• Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes.
• Working knowledge of arenaflex products and productions.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish.
• Experience using social media in a business or news environment.

Education

The minimum educational requirement for this role is a High School diploma or equivalent. However, a Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
