Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming chat and text inquiries from individuals seeking assistance through the 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline, providing empathetic and sensitive support to ensure clients feel understood and valued.
- Uphold performance metrics in accordance with the standards set by the 988 Lifeline, ensuring that all interactions meet the highest standards of quality and compassion.
- Engage with individuals in imminent crisis, utilizing de-escalation techniques, safety planning, and strategies to reduce risk during conversations, and facilitate referrals, coordinate with mobile crisis units, and collaborate with law enforcement in emergency situations as needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support to clients, establishing and maintaining trust-based, confidential relationships during and after interactions.
- Complete required Lifeline Simulation Training and participate in annual refresher training to ensure that your skills and knowledge are up-to-date and aligned with best practices in crisis intervention.
- Attain a monthly quality assurance score of no less than 85%, demonstrating your commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in your work.
- Pursue certification in crisis support through the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) when eligible, enhancing your skills and career trajectory within the field of crisis management and emotional support.
- Participate in national, state, and local meetings and outreach initiatives as required, contributing to the development of best practices and strategies in crisis intervention and emotional support.
- Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and team meetings to enhance team cohesion and effectiveness, and contribute to departmental goals and support organizational success through collaboration and teamwork.

Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique blend of skills, knowledge, and experience. The following qualifications are essential:
