As a System Engineer at Southwest Airlines, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our Agile development environment, including the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. You will be responsible for ensuring the integration of resources, end-to-end deployment testing, DevOps practices, deployment, and delivery on demand. This position is an essential part of our team, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about helping us drive our Group Booking and Recovery product offering efforts forward.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a strong foundation in systems development methodologies, practices, concepts, and technologies. You should have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues of moderate to high complexity. Additionally, you should have solid knowledge of hardware components, systems, software, and networking technologies, as well as experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, solution development, and performance optimization within specific technology areas.
While not required, we prefer candidates who have experience with Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and cloud-based technologies. You should be skilled in strong partnering, communication, and collaboration in working with Business Clients and Technology support. You should also have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
To excel in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in systems engineering, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
