About the Job
arenaflex is seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Engineer to join its team as a technical powerhouse to help scale its data infrastructure, automation, and tools to meet growing business needs. As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be a key player in designing, developing, and implementing large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse. You will work closely with colleagues and partners to understand data requirements, gather necessary data, and build reusable frameworks that improve the reliability and flexibility of ETLs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to understand data requirements and gather necessary data
- Design, develop, and implement large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse
- Build reusable frameworks that improve the reliability and flexibility of ETLs
- Manage a portfolio of data products that deliver high-quality, reliable data
- Mentor and coach colleagues to improve their designs and implementations
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar role
- 3+ years of experience working with programming languages like Python/Java
- 3+ years of experience with ETL tools and workflow management tools like Airflow, Flink, Oozie, and Azkaban using AWS/GCP
- Expertise in Database fundamentals, SQL, and distributed computing
- 3+ years of experience in the Distributed data/similar ecosystem (Spark, Hive, Druid, Voila) and streaming technologies like Kafka/Flink
- Experience working with Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL, or other DBMS platforms
- Knowledge of reporting tools like Tableau, Superset, and Looker
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self-starter, and self-organizing
- Capacity to think strategically, analyze, and interpret market and consumer data
Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms
- Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts
