We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Neptune City, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to work on your own schedule, choosing assignments that fit your availability and preferences. Our competitive pay rates, up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, reflect our commitment to valuing your expertise and dedication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, adapting to the needs of the students and the classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, creating a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and refine your teaching practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through our free, online training programs, covering topics such as trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and more.
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor.
- NJ Substitute Credential.
- Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this).
- Full COVID-19 vaccination.
- A passion for education and putting students first.
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role.
- Special education or subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, English, Special Ed).
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting to different classroom environments.

- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
