Job Summary

As a Supervisor Custodian, you will be responsible for managing custodial work and acting as a building guardian for assigned schools within the Anchorage School District. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of school facilities
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure that schools meet the required cleanliness standards
• Assign workload, evaluate employee performance, and maintain accurate records and reports
• Demonstrate procedures and methods to employees and assist in training new staff members
• Maintain work procedures in accordance with Anchorage School District policies and union contracts
• Requisition supplies and equipment, and perform minor repairs to custodial equipment as needed
• Act as a low-key security presence during non-school hours and maintain a lone security watch when necessary

Essential Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Three years of experience in custodial work and three years of experience in management or equivalent
• Good working knowledge of custodial skills and ability to supervise and train employees
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid Alaska driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain base access to JBER during employment at ASD

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and one of the following languages: Tagalog, Spanish, or Hmong
• Thorough knowledge of ASD building locations, interior layouts, and perimeter access points
• Ability to maintain low-key security, supervision, and control over groups using ASD buildings
• Ability to accept special assignments and perform them efficiently without supervision
• Ability to maintain effective relationships and work cooperatively with students, faculty, administrators, and the public
• Working knowledge of basic preventative maintenance of auto-scrubbers and related custodial power equipment
