System Engineer: Cloud Migration and Infrastructure Management
We're seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity. As a System Engineer, you'll play a critical role in driving our cloud migration strategy using Microsoft Intune and ensuring the stability and security of our infrastructure. You'll work closely with various teams to design, implement, and manage systems that meet our business requirements and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee vendor management, partner governance, and oversight of system installations to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruptions.
- Analyze problems, plan solutions, recommend software and systems, and coordinate developments to meet business requirements and improve customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and test performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and work with partners to implement fixes and optimize system performance.
- Ensure the highest levels of system and infrastructure availability, and resolve escalations of moderate to high complexity.
- Develop and implement platform strategy and roadmaps that align with business objectives and drive innovation.
- Stay up-to-date with technology trends and make recommendations to improve our systems and infrastructure.
- Manage computer and information networks, including hardware, software, and configurations, to ensure security, compliance, and optimal performance.
- Meet commitments and deliverables associated with collaborating on and leading projects, and ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
- Gather data on customer needs, and use it to identify, anticipate, interpret, and analyze system and network requirements.
- Create and execute testing strategies using test-driven development principles to ensure solution integrity and quality.
- Perform other job responsibilities as directed by employee's Leaders.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- The ability to analyze and solve problems of moderate to high complexity.
- Strong knowledge of hardware components, systems, software, and networking technologies.
- The capacity to perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, solution development, and implementation within specific technology areas.
- Professional-level partnering, negotiation, and communication skills to work effectively with business customers and technology support teams.
- Strong understanding of systems development methodologies, practices, principles, and technologies.
- The ability to develop, present, and effectively communicate ideas and strategies in both technical and customer-friendly language to medium-large audiences.
- The capacity to design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
- Professional-level skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, or other network and device problems, and changing defective components when necessary.
- Strong project management and analytical/creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Azure, SCCM, AD, and/or GPO.
- Experience with cloud migration and management.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and best practices.
Education and Experience
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- A High School diploma or GED.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent formal education.
- Intermediate-level experience, with fully functioning broad knowledge in system engineering.
