Job Summary and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining, designing, and developing data access layers for SQL and NoSQL data stores
- Leading a large team of experts to deliver cross-group initiatives
- Conducting root cause analysis of complex issues involving multiple teams, applications, networks, hardware, and software that impact scalability and performance
- Collaborating with the open-source community and contributing to open-source software
- Working with public cloud database service providers to deliver efficient and effective database solutions for business-critical applications
- Owning and resolving complex issues, providing robust solutions and technical expertise
- Being a change agent and technical leader, driving engineering and operational excellence, processes, and best practices
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Years of hands-on experience in software development in backend systems and services, including database access (SQL and NoSQL) in a distributed environment
- Years of hands-on experience as a technical lead or architect
- Deep understanding of cloud-native technologies, including distributed systems and databases
- Broad and deep hands-on experience and expertise in Java-based technologies
- Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), including architecture, design, and limitations
- Solid advocate of engineering and operational excellence, processes, and best practices
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:
- Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in AI, computer science, information technology, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, econometrics
- Successful completion of one or more certifications in Python, Spark, Scala, or R
- Experience using open-source frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, LightGBM)
