Job Overview
We're looking for an exceptional Virtual Special Education Teacher who is not only qualified but also driven by a profound commitment to enhancing the educational outcomes of students with individualized learning needs. As a full-time member of our remote team, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive educational support, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and fostering a collaborative environment with families and educational staff. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the educational journey of up to 35 students, ensuring they receive the tailored support necessary to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' skills and learning requirements, utilizing standardized testing methods to inform instruction.
- Clear Communication: Effectively communicate evaluation findings to parents and general education teachers, ensuring transparency and fostering a collaborative approach to student support.
- IEP Development: Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans that comply with federal regulations and embody best practices in special education.
- Collaboration and Progress Monitoring: Work closely with parents and school personnel to monitor student progress, adjust instructional strategies as needed, and ensure that students are meeting their IEP objectives.
- Timely Communication: Maintain regular and timely communication with families through email, text, or phone, responding to inquiries within 24 hours.
- Building Positive Relationships: Establish and nurture positive relationships with students and their families, creating an encouraging and supportive educational atmosphere.
- Virtual Instruction: Conduct virtual meetings with students aimed at achieving IEP objectives, utilizing digital tools to engage students and facilitate learning.
- Supporting Families: Equip families with the strategies and resources needed to support their child's learning outside of the virtual classroom.
- Customized Instruction: Customize instructional materials to cater to the varied needs of students, ensuring that each child receives an education tailored to their unique learning style.
- Data-Driven Instruction: Track student performance using measurable data, shaping instructional strategies and interventions to optimize student outcomes.
- Collaboration with Administration: Collaborate with school administration to ensure alignment and support in special education initiatives, contributing to the overall educational mission.

Live Virtual Instruction
As a Virtual Special Education Teacher, you will facilitate dynamic and interactive virtual classes for students from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM (ET). You will utilize various online platforms to deliver engaging lessons, assess student performance through virtual methods, and foster a sense of community among students.
- Virtual Classroom Management: Manage the virtual classroom environment to ensure it is conducive to learning, minimizing distractions and maximizing student engagement.
- Interactive Lessons: Use digital tools and resources to create interactive and engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Virtual Assessments: Conduct assessments and evaluations in a virtual setting, using a range of methods to gauge student understanding and progress.
In-Person State Testing
While our program is primarily virtual, there will be occasions when you will be required to support the administration of state-mandated testing in person. This involves ensuring that the testing environment is accommodating and conducive to student success, following testing protocols, and collaborating with administration to manage testing logistics.

Qualifications and Skills
