Key Responsibilities
As a Life Underwriter with TEKsystems, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Completing given cases and assignments in a timely and accurate manner
- Ordering exams and identifying total risk for life insurance applications
- Reviewing medical records and prescription history to assess risk
- Screening medication data for life insurance applications and analyzing high-risk medications
- Assessing adverse health information relating to classification of risk
- Screening life insurance applications for selection of standard and substandard risks
- Evaluating health information received with add-ons and reinstatements
- MIB code reporting and interpretation of MIB code data
- Identifying medical terminology and off-label medication uses
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Life Underwriter
- Experience working with iPipeline's Resonant Underwriting workbench
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to identify off-label medication uses
- Experience working with case limits of $100,000 or more
- Experience working with signing authorities over $100k
- Familiarity with programs such as: Swiss Re, RGA, underwriting Manuals, Score, underwrite.me, John Hancock
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working in a remote environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
