Clyde & Co US LLP is seeking associates and senior associates to join their growing litigation defense practice in Seattle. The role involves handling a variety of liability and insurance challenges, including insurance coverage and bad faith, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases.
Responsibilities
- Take depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required
- Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs
- Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis
- Draft discovery requests and discovery responses
- Review and analyze documents and materials for production
- Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies
- Actively and effectively report to our insurance carrier clients and insureds
- Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation
Skills
- 1 – 10 years of experience
- Admitted to practice in Washington State
- Civil litigation experience
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
