They are seeking attorneys to join their Litigation team in Providence, where associates will gain hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation from case inception to trial, as well as direct client contact.
Responsibilities
- Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations
- Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed
- Prepare discovery responses and manage document production
- Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports
- Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary
- Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants
Skills
- Must be licensed to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, or have pending bar exam results
- Juris Doctorate
- Bar
- 1-5 years: Prior insurance defense encouraged
