Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile, high-energy, and reliable US-based English Tutor (Native American Accent required) for a dual-focus role starting the first week of April. This is a long-term position supporting two students in Hong Kong with very different needs: a 1.5-year-old and a 13-year-old.
The Students:
Early Years (4 Days/Week): You will lead a 1-hour "immersion" session for an 18-month-old boy and his mother. This isn't a traditional lesson; it’s about high-energy interaction—singing, reading, and guided play to build a natural ear for American English.
Academic Support (1 Day/Week): You will pivot to mentoring a 13-year-old girl, helping her with school homework, refining her grammar, and practicing conversational English to boost her confidence in an academic setting.
The Schedule:
Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (US East Coast Time) / 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Hong Kong Time).
Days: Monday through Friday.
Start Date: First week of April.
About the Environment:
This role is part of a growing online tutoring startup currently undergoing a major platform restructure. As the CEO, I will frequently join these calls to take notes on progress and student milestones. You will be working directly with the leadership team to ensure the highest quality of education and parent communication.
Ideal Candidate:
Native North American Accent: Essential for language modeling.
Versatility: You can go from singing "The Wheels on the Bus" with a toddler to explaining complex essay structures to a teenager.
Early Childhood Experience: Experience with toddlers or "Mommy and Me" style classes is a huge plus.
Reliability: This is a fixed, daily "anchor" slot. We need someone who is consistent and punctual.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with video conferencing and providing feedback for our internal notes.
