We are a small but busy family law firm dedicated to providing high-quality legal services with a client-focused approach. Our team values organization, communication, and collaboration, and we are seeking a skilled Forensic Accountant to support our attorneys in complex financial matters. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Forensic Accountant to assist in divorce and family law matters. This role involves reviewing and analyzing financial records in connection with issues such as child support, alimony, and equitable distribution. The ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys to develop clear, accurate, and defensible financial analyses for use in negotiations, mediation, and litigation. Key Responsibilities • Review and analyze financial documents to identify income, expenses, and assets • Perform forensic analysis to determine true income and identify potential hidden assets • Identify, trace, and value known assets for equitable distribution • Prepare clear, organized, and user-friendly reports (including visual summaries when appropriate) • Assist attorneys in developing financial strategies for settlement, mediation, and trial • Assist with critiquing and analyzing reports prepared by opposing or third-party experts • Maintain organized and confidential case files Qualifications • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required • Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation strongly preferred • Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designation strongly preferred • Prior experience in forensic accounting, is a plus, preferably in a family law or litigation setting • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills • Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Technical Skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and document review platforms • Comfortable using remote communication tools such as Zoom, Slack, and DropBox What We’re Looking For • A self-motivated professional who can work independently in a remote environment • Someone who can collaborate effectively with attorneys and legal staff • A critical thinker with strong attention to detail and deadlines • A professional who can translate complex financial data into practical insights for litigation If you are an experienced forensic accountant looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity to work on meaningful and complex family law matters, we encourage you to apply.
