Role Overview – Contract Technical Writer for Developer‑Facing Documentation

This contract position is purpose‑built for a technically savvy writer who can produce developer‑oriented content such as API references, quick‑start guides, tutorials, and integration examples. You will work directly with a senior technical writing consultant who will provide briefings, recordings of SME meetings, and clear priorities. The role demands meticulous adherence to guidance, a bias for action, and a willingness to dive into source code, install products, and synthesize complex concepts into concise, user‑friendly documentation.

Compensation, Benefits, and Working Hours

Rate: $50 per hour on a 1099 basis for independent contractors, or approximately $42 per hour on a W2 basis for those preferring payroll. The W2 option includes access to a 401(k) plan, expense reimbursement, and a self‑paid medical, dental, and vision insurance package.
