Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a Controller-level accounting leader (minimum 10+ years of experience) to drive automation within the month-end close process, lead technical accounting guidance, and implement a robust project management tracking system.
This is a high-impact role focused on increasing efficiency, strengthening accounting standards, and improving operational visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead automation and process improvements to reduce the average close timeline to 7 days or less.
- Serve as the primary authority on technical accounting and GAAP research.
- Develop and maintain a project management tool to provide real-time visibility into close status and monthly deliverables.
- Manage and oversee at least three client engagements within the first year.
- Mentor staff and ensure high-quality financial reporting and internal controls.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility.
- Strong technical accounting expertise and GAAP knowledge.
- Proven experience improving and accelerating close processes.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- CPA preferred.
