This role involves direct care and supervision of children in a therapeutic group home setting, ensuring adherence to schedules and effective communication with staff.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direct care and supervision of children in the Specialized Therapeutic Group Home Program
- Adhere to the established daily schedule of activities
- Implement the behavior management system
- Maintain open communication with co-workers and administrators
- Complete all necessary documentation
Skills
- Applicants should have at minimum a high school diploma or GED
- At least one year experience working with children/adolescents
- Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) encouraged to apply
- Valid Florida's driver's license is required
- Able to physically engage in restraints
- May involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate weight (10-25 pounds)
- Repetitive sitting; standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping; kneeling; talking; and listening
- Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to drive
- Child Development Associate or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
