About the Role
The Senior Category Manager, Indirect Procurement plays a critical role in the Global Procurement team, responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to ensure supply and achieve best value for Insulet. This involves managing job category and commodity management strategies to achieve significant cost reductions, improve product quality, and enhance supplier service levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and strategic sourcing, with experience working with stakeholders across various business categories, including Marketing, IT, Facilities, HR, and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to plan annual spend and develop Insulet-wide and department-focused strategies to identify and procure high-value outside services.
- Lead RFP/RFQ processes, subsequent selection processes, and negotiations for complex services, developing standard and customized processes to drive optimal supplier selection and value.
- Lead contract and pricing negotiations with suppliers, managing through award and execution, including contracting and contract amendments.
- Serve as the single point of contact for providing suppliers with direction and feedback, identifying, creating, and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams that engage with suppliers on issues and continuous improvement, driving business objectives and achieving cost-saving targets.
- Perform other duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain, Business, or Finance.
- 10+ years of related Procurement and strategic sourcing experience, with demonstrated purchasing expertise and knowledge in indirect sourcing categories.
- Experience using SAP, MS Office, SharePoint, eProcurement, and eSourcing systems/tools.
- Professional certification (C.P.M., CPSM) is preferred.
- A flexible and experienced negotiator with the ability to see the big picture clearly from both sides and select the approach best suited to the situation at hand.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading multicultural teams in a global, fast-paced environment.
- A strong background in the IT space, although not essential, as the position may evolve over time.
- A team player who seeks and values diverse input to hone ideas, but also has the experience to develop strong starting proposals.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $115,900.00 - $174,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Insulet Corporation also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including bonus, equity, and benefits.
