Senior Business Analyst, Advanced Excel
Rate: $65-$76/hr | W2 | Remote | 6-Month Contract
Opportunity
Del Oro Consulting, a national consulting solutions provider with more than 20 years of experience delivering consulting services to global technology leaders in the US, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support finance-focused reporting, system configuration, and business process improvement initiatives within our client’s organization.
What You Will Do
• Own, maintain, and enhance a complex Excel-based configuration workbook that supports a global partner program.
• Redesign and update Excel models and logic as new program rules are released.
• Build and maintain advanced Excel functions and formulas, including multi-line, nested, and custom logic beyond standard macros and pivot tables
• Develop automated workflows and data transformations using advanced Excel features, Power Query, and structured modeling techniques
• Partner with business, finance, and operations leaders to gather, document, and validate system and reporting requirements
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and Jira tickets
• Support product and platform enhancements through requirements documentation, mock-ups, and collaboration with IT
• Work with IT to translate concepts into Figma wireframes and production-ready solutions
• Document business processes, data logic, and configuration rules to ensure continuity and scalability
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Excel-based configuration tools and partner data platforms
Skills & Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in business systems analysis, product support, or a similar senior-level role
• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
• Advanced, multi-line, nested functions
• Complex data modeling and validation logic
• Power Query and advanced automation
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and enhancing mission-critical Excel-based tools or configuration systems
• Experience working with multiple data sources and system integrations
• Proven ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Experience writing user stories and managing work in Jira
• Ability to work independently and serve as a primary owner of complex tools and processes

• Work Arrangement: Remote
• Rate: Up to $76 per hour,
Consultant, 6-month contract opportunity on a W2
