About the Role: 3rd Shift Help Desk Specialist
As a 3rd Shift Help Desk Specialist at Jones Day, you will provide timely, responsive, and accurate support and problem resolution to our lawyers and staff. This is a full-time position with a voluntary remote work arrangement, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and log calls, emails, and voicemails from lawyers and staff, providing prompt and effective support.
- Troubleshoot end-user incidents, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
- Fulfill service requests, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Escalate and follow up on all issues, ensuring that problems are resolved to the satisfaction of our lawyers and staff.
- Provide documentation for problem-solving measures on various applications, as required.
- Collaborate with the IT team to resolve complex technical issues.
- Stay up-to-date with new software products and technologies, applying troubleshooting skills to assist callers.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a major in computer technologies or a related field.
- Previous experience as a help desk specialist or in an IT-related support role is preferred but not required (training will be provided).
- Demonstrated ability to perform in positions of responsibility, preferably in a legal environment.
- Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, and Windows 7/10 (or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to listen, work directly with lawyers and staff, answer phones, document problems, and speak and write in terms easily understood.
- Aptitude for learning new software products and applying troubleshooting skills to assist callers.
- Able to work with minimal supervision as well as work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a law firm or similar environment.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and best practices.
- Certifications in help desk or IT support (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL).
