Your Role as a Veterinary Technician
As a Veterinary Technician with our team, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional care to our patients and clients. Here are some of the key responsibilities:
- Venipuncture: You'll perform venipuncture procedures to collect blood samples and administer medication.
- Catheter placement: You'll place catheters to administer medication and fluids.
- Radiology: You'll assist with radiology procedures, including taking X-rays and preparing patients for imaging.
- Anesthesia monitoring: You'll monitor patients under anesthesia to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Physical examinations and patient assessment: You'll perform physical examinations and assess patients to develop treatment plans.
- Surgical preparation and assisting: You'll prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures.
- Laboratory work: You'll perform laboratory tests and analyze results to support diagnosis and treatment.
- Pharmacy: You'll assist with pharmacy duties, including dispensing medication and advising clients.
- Patient recovery: You'll care for patients during recovery, ensuring they're comfortable and safe.
- Compassionate care for hospitalized patients: You'll provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, and administering medication.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
We're looking for a Veterinary Technician with the following qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology: We're looking for candidates with a degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field.
- Current Veterinary Technician certification: We're looking for candidates with current certification as a Veterinary Technician.
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic: We're looking for candidates with experience working in a veterinary clinic, preferably in a specialized or emergency setting.
