As the Vice President of Engineering and Applications, you will define and execute the technology strategy that drives our insurance platforms, enhances digital experiences for customers and agents, and enables data-driven decision-making.
You will lead a high-performing team of engineering leaders, architects, and developers, with a focus on platform modernization, multi-tenant innovation, and seamless delivery. Your leadership will ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and deliver exceptional value and user experience. This role supports a multi-client, service-provider model designed to flexibly serve multiple mutual P&C insurance companies.
In addition, you will play a key role in advancing our digital transformation efforts, including large-scale data conversions and cloud migrations—initiatives that are critical to our long-term success.
This position reports directly to the Chief Information and Technology Officer and is instrumental in shaping the future of our technology landscape.
Accountabilities:
• Lead from the front: Set and embody a culture of engineering excellence, hands-on leadership, and accountability.
• Hands-on technical leadership across business applications, architecture, engineering, DevOps, and delivery practices.
• Technology and Platform Strategy:
• * Advance the adoption of core insurance platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duckcreek, Agent Portals) and cutting-edge GenAI capabilities.
• Drive platform modernization leveraging React, NoSQL, Microservices, and cloud-native SaaS architectures.
• Lead enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives, including legacy modernization and new digital product development.
• Build and scale multi-tenant platforms to enable servicing multiple client service business units efficiently.
• Champion CI/CD automation, DevOps culture, modular architecture, and scalable design principles.
• Financial Accountability and Cost Optimization:
• * Own the engineering and applications budget with full accountability for delivering cost-effective, high-value solutions.
• Optimize resource utilization, vendor management, and technology investments to ensure scalability without compromising financial discipline.
• Multi-Client Service Model Leadership:
• * Architect and manage application platforms that serve multiple mutual insurance companies in a multi-tenant or shared services environment.
• Design solutions that are configurable and adaptable across different client organizations without significant rework.
• Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs), data security, client-specific compliance needs, and client satisfaction are consistently met or exceeded.
• Data Conversion and Migration Leadership:
• * Manage complex data conversions, system migrations, and platform integrations ensuring data integrity, security, and business continuity.
• Data Security and Privacy by Design:
• * Integrate data security, privacy protection, and compliance frameworks into all phases of application development and platform operations.
• Business Collaboration:
• * Act as a trusted technology partner to Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and other business functions.
• Translate business needs into pragmatic, scalable technology solutions aligned to digital goals.

• * Oversee meticulous planning, agile execution, and delivery of complex initiatives, ensuring business outcomes and technology excellence.
