Pacific Smoke International Inc. is a leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada. They are seeking an Accounting Associate to join their team, responsible for verifying invoices, monitoring account balances, and collaborating with the Customer Service team for claims on damaged shipments.
Responsibilities
- Verify and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, flipping verified invoices to bills in NetSuite promptly and accurately
- Review B3 forms downloaded from UPS Assist, verifying that the Good Value, GST amount, and Excise Tax charges align accurately with our landing cost and vendor bill amounts
- Recording daily payment deposits from EFT/EDI/Wire/Direct Deposit Payments, ensures accurate and timely recording against bank statements and internal records. Identifies and resolves discrepancies promptly
- Review the product list for destruction, collect all importation documents, and prepare the E15 with the K32 submission to CBSA
- Verify all outbound shipping bills for accuracy and completeness
- Record verified shipping bills in NetSuite and review payment terms and deadlines to ensure payments are made within the appropriate timeframe
- Monitor the account balances and manage payments for custom clearance billing and import tax related to UPS Canada & DHL Express
- Collaborate with the Customer Service team to submit claims for damaged and lost shipments
- Prepare and maintain the Credit Application by the purchasing team
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Attention to details and accuracy in processing invoices
- Problem solving skills
- Good communication skills when dealing with vendors and coworkers
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
