Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child Development Technician to join our Kids First Fort Smith program. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care and intervention to young children with developmental delays and special medical needs. This is a unique opportunity to work in a remote setting while making a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to a group of young children, including serving mealtimes, assisting with feeding, diapering, and dressing.
- Offer developmentally appropriate behavioral guidance within daily scheduled activities.
- Collaborate with the Early Childhood Development Specialist (ECDS) to provide individualized developmental services in a child-centered, family-focused manner.
- Create engaging learning environments and apply curriculum to address the objectives contained in each child's treatment plan.
- Establish positive relationships with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of child progress and program activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 6 months of experience working in the care of children.
- Ability to pass state abuse registry checks, drug screen, submit to a TB skin test, and required immunizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional education, such as CCOT, CDA, AA, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices.

- Ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong observational and reporting skills.
