As an Assistant Teacher, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the unique needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Lead Teachers: Assist Lead Teachers in providing a safe, warm, and inviting classroom that is clean and organized, ensuring a high-quality standard of care for every child.
- Communication is Key: Communicate daily with families regarding student progress or needs, encouraging partnership and support.
- Building Relationships: Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote parent and community engagement.
- Curriculum Implementation: Utilize and adhere to assigned classroom's daily schedule, incorporating our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment.
- Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining daily records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other records required by local agencies.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with team members and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement, contributing to the center's overall success.
- Nourishing Young Minds: Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, promoting healthy eating habits and a positive dining experience.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed as an Assistant Teacher at Childcare Network, you'll need:
- A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to nurturing young minds.
- Previous experience working in a childcare setting, preferably as an Assistant Teacher or in a similar role.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; early childhood education certification or degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A warm, patient, and engaging approach to working with children, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Early childhood education certification or degree, such as CDA or ECE.
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices, including curriculum design and implementation.
- First aid and CPR certification.
