Experienced Before School Music Teacher - Orchestra Director for Middle School Ensemble

We're on the lookout for a talented and experienced Before School Music Teacher to lead our Middle School Orchestra at Crossroads South Middle School. As an Orchestra Director, you will have the opportunity to inspire and mentor approximately 80 enthusiastic students, guiding them towards excellence in their musical journey.

About the Position:

This is a unique opportunity to work with our Middle School Orchestra, rehearsing and directing students before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. As a Before School Music Teacher, you will be expected to arrive at 6:30 AM and work collaboratively with our existing orchestra directors to deliver outstanding performances at our Winter and Spring Concerts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rehearse and direct the Middle School Orchestra, comprising approximately 80 students, before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Plan and implement a comprehensive music program, ensuring students are well-prepared for concerts and other performances.
• Collaborate with other orchestra directors to align teaching methods and goals.
• Perform at two major concerts: Winter Concert on December 13th, 2023, and Spring Concert on May 8th, 2024.
• Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging student growth and development.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a successful music program.

Essential Qualifications:

• NJ Teacher Certification: Holding a valid teaching certification in the state of New Jersey.
• Prior Experience: Proven experience in planning, rehearsing, and directing orchestra ensembles, preferably at the middle school level.
• Musical Expertise: Strong knowledge of music theory, orchestral instruments, and conducting techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
• Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation.
